It may seem that private institutions are exempt from implementing a proper security program, but there is a high probability that 1) their information systems contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and 2) they have financial information about the institution and students that need to be protected from leaks and disclosures. Additionally, there is an increasingly higher number of institutions that maintain medical staff, which could include PHI that would need protection. This amount of information makes them a prime target from hackers.
SLATE has extensive experience helping Private Institutions implement these programs and getting the senior leadership on board by showing a roadmap and helping to decipher what they need to accomplish in order to achieve a secure information system. SLATE will show all employees the importance of implementing secure controls in their processes and it does not have to mean that they are losing the ability to perform their jobs at a high level. We will combine our experience with PHI, PII, and other Protected Sensitive Data to put a security program in place for an industry that is truly self-regulated. We understand that in the Educational Industry, it is more than just a technical issue, it is also a cultural issue that needs to change. The framework that SLATE has developed can help your institution develop a program that will address both aspects, while securing your information system.
